Ghana’s Black Stars have climbed two places to 73rd in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings following their strong performance in the recent World Cup qualifiers.
The improvement comes after Ghana secured back-to-back wins against Madagascar and the Central African Republic in June’s qualifiers, continuing their steady rise under coach Otto Addo. Despite the global progress, the team’s position in Africa remains unchanged at 14th.
Spain sit at the top of the world rankings, followed by Argentina and France. Niger recorded the biggest climb, moving nine places up, while the Faroe Islands earned the most points (+37.95). Kosovo reached a new highest ranking at 84th, while Greece saw the biggest drop, slipping eight places. Sweden also recorded the largest points loss (-27.63).
In Africa, the top ten are Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Mali, Cameroon, and South Africa.
Ghana will return to action next month with international friendlies against Japan and South Korea as part of preparations for the next round of World Cup qualifiers.
