Carlos Alcaraz reinforced his dominance on grass courts by reaching the Wimbledon semifinals for the third consecutive year, following a commanding 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Britain’s Cameron Norrie on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The two-time defending champion displayed exceptional form on Centre Court, dispatching the home favorite in just 99 minutes while firing 39 winners and serving 13 aces, never allowing Norrie a foothold in the match.
This win extended Alcaraz’s career-best winning streak to 23 matches, the longest tour-level streak by any male player aged 22 or younger since Juan Martin del Potro achieved the same in 2008. Demonstrating remarkable consistency and resilience, Alcaraz saved all five break points he faced and won an impressive 89% of his first-serve points, marking the highest first-serve success rate of his young career in a major tournament.
By reaching his third Wimbledon semifinal, Alcaraz joined an exclusive group of Spanish players to do so, with only Rafael Nadal having matched this feat before. His performance solidifies his place among the sport’s elite and highlights his growing legacy at Wimbledon, where he aims to secure a third straight title.
Looking ahead, Alcaraz will face American fifth seed Taylor Fritz, who is making his first semifinal appearance at Wimbledon. The match promises to be a pivotal contest as Alcaraz pursues a rare achievement: becoming only the fourth man in history to win the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year multiple times, joining legends Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver and Nadal.
