Veteran Sports Presenter, and Executive Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, Dr. Kweku Ofosu-Asare, is calling for transparency in the administration of football in the country’s to make it attractive to foreign investors.
According to him, adherence to rules and regulations is another area Ghana must pay critical attention to.
“No investor will want to invest in an environment that is not all that conducive, that laws are not biting, you know issues of corruption, issues of all that nobody will be interested in”.

Dr. Ofosu-Asare, appeared on GBC’s programme “Saving Our Passion.” The programme is to solicit ideas from major sector players on measures to ignite interest of Ghanaians in football. This follows the abysmal performance of the Black in Ghana .
Mr. Ofosu-Asare, who was worried about professionalism in the area of sports, said issues about officiating should be of concern as it has some influence on the game of football.
”How about officiating? Are we having match officials officiating as expected? Can you watch the game and you cannot predict the outcome and is the referee and his assistants and all those concerned are really adhering to rules and regulations”.
He regretted that many of the problems being encountered in Ghana’s football are not new, which should have been surmounted by now.

He said such development only leaves much to be desired.
“This didn’t start yesterday, and I told myself but, for the respect and for my loyalty with GBC, I wouldn’t have even come on this programme”, he said, ”because every time we go for a tournament and we come and sit and talk the same things nothing gets done”.
