The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that it is actively investigating the violent disturbances that occurred during the Premier League matchday 33 game between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC in Anyinase. The incident has drawn significant attention from football authorities and fans alike, prompting a thorough review of the events.

The match was interrupted after Nations FC chose to discontinue the game following a contentious decision to award a second penalty to Holy Stars. This decision sparked a melee between the two teams, leading to chaos on the pitch and a halt to the match. The disruption was reportedly fueled by heightened tensions and frustration from both sides.

In a statement issued on Tuesday June 3, 2025, the GFA confirmed that they are looking into the circumstances surrounding the violence that took place on Sunday June 3, 2025. The association emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within the league and assured stakeholders that appropriate actions will be taken against those found responsible.

The GFA also called on clubs, players, officials, and supporters to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation. They stressed the importance of ensuring a safe and fair environment for all participants in Ghanaian football. The association promised to provide further updates once their inquiries are complete.
