The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with its new partner, ADESA Productions, has announced a landmark financial package that will see each of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs receive GH¢1 million ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The move marks a significant boost in support for domestic league clubs, aimed at enhancing their preparations and competitiveness.
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku disclosed the development, emphasising that the financial injection forms part of a new approach under the partnership with ADESA Productions.
“As part of our new approach, and through this unique partnership with ADESA Productions, each of our GPL clubs will, before the start of the league season, receive GH¢1 million,” he said.
He noted that this sum represents the minimum guaranteed payment to each club under the new financial model.
The funding is expected to alleviate many of the financial pressures clubs face at the start of the season, including operational costs, player welfare, and logistics.
In recent years, the GFA has progressively increased financial support and built strategic partnerships to foster the growth and sustainability of Ghanaian football. These efforts include sponsorship deals with key corporate organisations.
The partnership with ADESA Productions — a media and production company known for its popular Ghanaian entertainment content — reflects the GFA’s deliberate strategy to broaden the financial base and professionalize football financing in the country.
The initiative coincides with other ongoing collaborations aimed at empowering clubs and strengthening the overall football ecosystem.
With this historic financial package, Ghana Premier League clubs are positioned to begin the new season on a stronger footing, potentially leading to improved performances on and off the pitch.
The GFA’s move signals a renewed commitment to raising the profile and quality of Ghanaian football, both locally and internationally.
