Ghana to play Algeria in opening game of the Women’s AFCON

The stage is set for what will be a delightful Women’s AFCON, at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra the much awaited draw for the 11 Total Africa Women’s Nations Cup was held.
Host Ghana has been drawn along with Algeria, Mali and Cameroon.
Holders Nigeria seeded in Pot B Nigeria are joined by South Africa, Zambia and Kenya.
LOC Chairperson Freda Prempeh assures Africa of Ghana’s readiness to host a successful tournament.
On the draw, Assistant Coach of Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe, said the group is a good one and Ghana can sail through.
She also said the Queens will need massive support from Ghanaians to bring out the best in the team.
Team Manger of Zambia, Besa Chibwe’s said the group was a fair one, bearing in mind that names do not play football again, all one need is good preparation and the rest will follow.
