South Africa made a turn in the Sports of hockey by securing a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
They achieved this milestone at the University of Pretoria hockey court by beating Nigeria 9 : 0.
The men’s division also secured their ticket to the Olympic games. South African men’s hockey team registered a 2-1 win over Egypt’s men’s hockey team.
Tarryn Lombard scored a hat-trick, for the South African women and finished as the top scorer of the tournament with seven goals. They were very relentless and poised in their game.
Nigeria were put to sleep by the momentum of the girls from South Africa, they were enable to catch up with the pace thrown at them.
After the game, South African Quanita Bobbs said; “There’s exciting young players in our team, talented individuals. Every game they bring their strengths and that’s what we want them to do. It’s cool to see that some of them scored today”.
