Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Accra Hearts of Oak 2-0 in the second leg of the special “Super 2” Cup match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
The 2-0 victory gives the porcupine warriors a back-to-back victory over the phobias within one week.
Kotoko won the first leg by the same margin, after Songne Yacouba had a brace to make the second leg more comfortable for them.
This time, it was Obed Owusu and Emmanuel Gyamfi who secured victory for Kotoko, after scoring in the 69th and 83rd minute of the game respectively.
Both goals were well orchestrated by Kotoko as the two substitutes justified coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s decision to introduce them into the game in the second half.
But much credit must to go Yacouba, who was a constant threat to the defence of Hearts and his exploits broke them down for his colleagues to capitalize on.
The match was arranged by the two clubs following inactivity on the football front after the famous Anas Expose.
