Organisers of the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have outdoored the official Mascot for the biennial event.
The Mascot who will bring much joy to the fans is TITRIT.
According to a statement posted on the CAF website, “the WAFCON mascot is a lioness, a reference to Morocco’s Atlas Lions/Lionesses, an undeniable symbol of power and courage. TITRIT is a Moroccan Berber name which means “star” or “celebrity” and which characterises a proud, dignified, rigorous and determined person.”
TITRIT’s raised fist depicts determination and tenacity shown by women’s footballers facing their opponents, qualities that will be needed for the titanic battles that lie in wait at WAFCON 2022.
The 2022 Total Energies Women’s AFCON will feature 12 countries in 4 groups of 3 and will be live in HD on GTV Sports+ in Rabat and Casablanca.
