Ghana Athletics has officially announced its participation in the upcoming 2025 Africa Schools Sports Championship, scheduled to take place in Algiers, Algeria, from July 24 to August 1, 2025.
The selected young athletes who will represent Ghana include Mensah Comfort and Ohenewaa Leticia who will be running in the 100 meters, while Darkoah Janet Kwateng and Sulemana Fulera will be competing in the 200 meters event. Eghan Christiana, on the other hand, will be showcasing her skills in the triple jump.
Furthermore, the male athletes selected for the championship include Boateng Appiah Alex and Konadu Blessing Junior, who will be competing in the 100 meters event. Boateng Appiah Alex will also be partaking in the 200 meters event, alongside Tettey Philip Odjer, who will also be competing in the 400 meters. Nunu Richard will be running in the 800-meter event, while Papa Kweku Ayim will be throwing in the discus event.
Again two experienced coaches, Atsu Nyamadi and Yelewana Zenanta, will accompany the delegation to Algeria. The Ghanaian delegation will depart Accra on July 23rd.
Ghana Athletics extends its appreciation to the Ghana Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, and all stakeholders for their constant aid in promoting athletics development in Ghana.
