Oheneba Kwadwo Karikari, an independent parliamentary aspirant for Afigya-Kwabre South Constituency, has made a passionate appeal to the government to as a matter of urgency, construct the Aboaso-Ankaase road.

He said the deplorable nature of the road, was hampering quality health care delivery at the Methodist Faith Healing Hospital at Ankaase, which served as a major referral health facility in the area.

The bad nature of the road had also made it a hotspot for armed robbery activities by gangs who have been terrorizing members of communities along the road, staff of the hospital and patients who visited the facility.

Speaking at a press conference at Ankaase, Mr Karikari, said the people were tired of the activities of armed gangs on the road due to its bad nature.

He said the recent brutal attacks on some commuters on the road by armed robbers, resulting in the death of a staff of the Methodist Hospital, should be a wake-up call to the government to fix the road.

Mr Karikari said the Methodist Hospital served the people of about four districts and some parts of the Kumasi metropolis.

It was therefore, important for the government to fix the road to make it more accessible and ease the problem patients, especially pregnant women had to go through to access healthcare at the facility.

“We are tired of this, kindly save us from the hands of robbers by giving us good roads and providing security,” Mr Karikari stated at the press conference.

Mr Karikari, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Nkwa Boafuo Natural Clinic at Old Tafo, urged the police to continue its patrols on the road to curb the activities of these armed robbers.
