A low pressure system over the far eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean, off the west coast of Africa, has a 70% chance of developing into a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Monday.

A tropical depression is likely to form during the next day as the disturbance moves towards the Cape Verde Islands, the NHC added.
