Seven persons have been confirmed dead in a Boxing Day accident which occurred on the Odumasi-Konongo-Kumasi road this morning.
The accident involving VVIP and OA commercial buses with registration numbers GT 6082-18 and GT 4913-14 are reported to have collided head-on.
The buses had a number of travellers who were going to visit friends and family for the yuletide.
The victims, numbering about 47 have been referred to the Konongo Government Hospital and Steward Hospital at Yawkwai sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Meanwhile, the Police say they have begun investigations into the matter.
According to the Ashanti Regional MTTD Commander, Superintendent, Emmanuel Adu Boahen five others, who are in critical condition have been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
