South Africa has closed its open land borders with neighbouring countries for general entries and departures until February 15.

This comes following a spike in COVID-19 cases which the authorities attribute to widespread holiday trips.

In addition, coronavirus vaccines will soon be made available to the South African public. In a televised address, President Cyril Ramaphosa shared important information with the people.

He said the government has secured 20 million doses of the vaccine to be delivered mainly in the first half of the year.
