The Daily Graphic welcomes the UK-Ghana Summit describing it as appropriate and timely to boost business and investments in Africa. The Paper says the summit comes at a time Britain’s exit from the European Union has created an imperative for the UK to forge a new set of international trade and alliances. The Graphic expects the leaders to make a strong case to secure sustainable finance for Africa’s infrastructure and discuss how the two countries can mobilise future partnerships for the needs of African nations. The paper hopes that as Ghana looks into the future, its priorities will create a closer partnership between Ghana and other economic giants.

The Ghanaian Times applauds the Ghana Standards Authority for raiding and closing down over 25 illegal pesticides production factories at South Odokor in Accra. Director-General of the Authority, Professor Alex Doodo who led the five-hour operation said the action of the companies posed serious health issues to the residence hence the need to stop them. The Paper agrees with the sentiments expressed by Professor Doodo and calls for the arrest of the offenders. The Times is, however, unhappy that the exercise had not started before now as these illegal products have been around for some time now. The Paper thereby encourages the Ghana Standards Authority to cast their net wider to cover more areas and stop the illegal activities.
