Black Sherif says the clothes he wears play an important role in how he performs on stage, describing his outfit as a source of confidence and rhythm even before he begins a show.
The reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif, said dressing well is a key part of his preparation for live performances.
“The clothes I wear give me the rhythm to perform. I always say that when the fit is nice, the performance is successful even before I get on stage,” he said.
Speaking in an interview a day after winning Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif explained that choosing the right outfit helps him prepare mentally and physically, making it easier to connect with both the music and his audience.
According to him, a carefully selected look reduces distractions and creates a sense of readiness that enhances his stage presence.

Known for blending streetwear with cultural influences, Black Sherif said his fashion choices are closely linked to his artistic identity.
The 24-year-old rapper and fashion model noted that clothing allows him to express his mood, energy and message without saying a word.
The “Kwaku the Traveller” hitmaker has become known for his distinctive style, often featuring layered outfits, earthy tones and accessories that reflect his Ghanaian roots.
He said that while vocal delivery and stagecraft remain central to his performances, the psychological boost that comes from feeling comfortable and confident in what he wears should not be overlooked.
“When you feel good in what you wear, you move differently. The audience feels it too,” he said.
Black Sherif added that paying attention to his appearance is part of respecting both his audience and his craft, stressing that preparation for a performance goes beyond rehearsals to include how he presents himself visually.
