The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah has called for a halt to the decision by the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly to demolish 500 houses at Ntribuoho, Krobo and surrounding areas over alleged encroachment of lands earmarked for quarrying.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Osei-Mensah said he is yet to call all stakeholders involved in the matter to a meeting to arrive at an amicable solution.
His decision follows reports of tension brewing in the area in view of the planned demolition exercise to make way for the quarrying project, a move residents kicked against. Mr. Osei-Mensah said he will meet all stakeholders to deal with the matter soon.
