Deputy Country Director of SEND Ghana, Dr Emmanuel Ayifah, says over dependence on donor funding for critical sectors of the economy poses a threat to attaining Ghana Beyond Aid and the Sustainable Development Goals.

He said donor support constitute 88.9 percent of projected allocation to the agriculture sector, 75 percent to water, hygiene and sanitation and education sector, and these have serious implications on the implementation of key interventions.

Dr. Ayifah, who said this at Send Ghana’s preliminary assessment of the 2021 Budget, noted further that government must find a sustainable way to fund and implement its capital investment and renegotiate to control the country’s natural resources.
