The Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry (GHCCI) and other stakeholders are calling on Government to come up with appropriate regulatory structures to oversee the activities of players in the construction industry.

According to the industry players, not regulating the industry over the years, has posed some challenges, especially Government’s delay in paying contractors when they undertake contract works.

Addressing the media in Accra, a Consultant of the Association of Building and Civil Engineer Contractors of Ghana, Mr. Osei Asante said the absence of regulation in the industry has resulted in unqualified individuals as contractors.

The Chairman of the Private Enterprises Federation (PEF), Kwaku Agyemang-Duah urged the media to be a medium for continuous dialogue among the various stakeholders.
