The National Labour Commission (NLC) has again directed the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to return to work and appear before it Wednesday, September 23, for further discussions.
It said the strike did not follow due process.
Executive Secretary, of the NLC, Ofosu Asamoah, said the summons to appear, follows the public declaration of withdrawal of services by the Spokesperson of the Association, directing that effective 8 a.m. Monday, September 21, health professionals working within the public health sectors should withdraw their services.
These include nurses, midwives, physician assistants.
Meanwhile, the NLC says the Nurses risk sanctions if they continue to absent themselves from work.
It said the striking medical workers are on the path to losing their salaries and possibly entitlements if they remain adamant over returning to take care of frustrated and stranded patients.
