Chairman of the National Peace Council, Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante has called for absolute peace in the country as Ghanaians enter an election year.
He said the only way to maintain a peaceful Ghana is for political opponents to respect each other’s ideology, dialogue as equal duty bearers in order to have a consensus and enhance unity in diversity.
On the proposed ban on vigilantes, Most Rev. Prof Asante said vigilantism has been outlawed by Parliament, therefore the youth should avoid being used by politicians to forment trouble.
He also asked the law enforcement agencies to be on high alert and enforce the law no matter who is involved.
