The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has called on the GES and the Ghana Health Service to do a thorough assessment and come out with the exact figures of COVID-19 cases in schools to allay fears.
Disclosure of the exact figure will also deal with speculations and help tackle the issues head-on.
General Secretary of the Association, Thomas Musah, in an interview said though the issue of recorded cases of coronavirus in schools is worrisome, the Association believes an all hands on deck approach by stakeholders and the enforcement of protocols in Schools will help deal with the situation.
On whether or not schools should be closed, Mr. Musah said closure of schools is not the case. What is rather needed is to secure the learning environment for teaching and learning to continue.
