PSWU appeals to government to consider plight of workers

The Public Service Workers Union (PSWU), has asked stakeholders especially government and employers to look at challenges and issues workers encounter while they work hard for the development of the nation.

The Acting General Secretary, Bernard Adjei disclosed that somethings are not going on well especially in the area of the 2nd Tier pension scheme.

The PSWU questioned what went wrong with the old SSNIT system while they prepared for the update of the new scheme.

The 2019 May day celebration saw the participation of over twenty six public institutions. The day began with converging of workers from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Food and Drugs Authority, National Youth Authority and many more at the ZOY Gardens of GBC with live band, food exhibition and comedy.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Acting General Secretary of the PSWU, Mr. Bernard Adjei said stakeholders must critically look at workers conditions especially the pension scheme to avoid the challenges workers go through after pension.
