Residents in parts of Accra to face temporary water shortages — GWL

The Ghana Water Limited has announced temporary water supply interruptions in parts of western Accra.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations of the company, Ghana Water Limited said the temporary supply challenges are due to technical difficulties at its Weija Water Treatment Plant.

Areas expected to be affected include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle Bu, La Paz, McCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma, and surrounding communities.

The company urged residents in the affected areas to store water whenever supply is available to help manage the temporary disruption.

Ghana Water Limited assured the public that its engineers and technical teams are working diligently to resolve the challenges and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.

The company apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience caused and appealed for calm and cooperation while efforts are underway to fix the problem.

It also advised essential service providers to liaise with their Assembly Members or contact the GWL Call Centre on the following numbers for assistance: 0800 40 000 (Telecel lines only), 0302218240, 0207385087, 0207385088, 0207385089 and 0207385090

The statement further encouraged customers to follow all Ghana Water Limited social media platforms for updates and additional information.
