Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed a strategic partnership with Morocco to upgrade the nation’s sports facilities.
Addressing a Moroccan delegation, Ablakwa praised Morocco’s emergence as Africa’s sporting hub after successfully hosting the 2024 Women’s AFCON and 2025 AFCON with state-of-the-art stadiums.
“We are also collaborating when it comes to sports because you know that Morocco has become the hub for sporting activities in Africa,” Ablakwa stated.
He highlighted Morocco’s massive investments in pitches and infrastructure as the blueprint Ghana aims to replicate.
“They have invested tremendously in sporting infrastructure and we are working with them to also improve our facilities and to nurture our young talents so our co-operation with Morocco is becoming very broad, very deep and very wide.”
The collaboration extends beyond facilities to youth development, positioning Ghana to strengthen its football ecosystem, including the Black Stars and Black Queens ahead of major tournaments. Morocco’s AFCON hosting acclaim, despite the Senegal controversy, sets the technical standard.
