High Court grants alleged kidnappers bail

An Accra High Court has granted bail to 4 of the 8 suspects involved in the kidnapping of the two Canadian girls to a tune of 200,000 cedis each with two surities and one to be justified.

The suspects Abdul Nasir, Seidu Abubakar, Abdul Rhaman Suleiman and Safianu Abubakar are to report themselves to the Kumasi Central Police Station  every Monday.

The court presided over by Justice George Boadi  asked the other four to be sent back to the BNI headquarters.

They are to be brought back August 12, for the vacation Judge to continue with their case since the court will be on recess by then.

In a related development one of the suspect Sampson Aghalor who is also a Nigerian pleaded with the court to allow him to make calls to his relatives.

But the judge decline the request saying it is unlawful for his plea to be granted.

The judge however, said his relatives are obliged under international law to visit him but they must first go through the Nigerian High Commission and subsequently they will be led to him.

Case continues August 12, 2019.
