Former Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has been named spokesperson for the campaign team of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
Chairman Wontumi on Wednesday officially unveiled his campaign team following what his camp described as extensive nationwide consultations aimed at strengthening his position among leading contenders in the race.
According to a statement issued on May 13, the campaign structure brings together experienced politicians and emerging party figures, reflecting what the team described as growing confidence and broad support for his candidacy across the party.
Former Member of Parliament for Sunyani East and former Majority Chief Whip, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, has been appointed Campaign Chairman, while former New Edubiase MP and former Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, George Boahen Oduro, will serve as Campaign Manager.
Other members of the team include former Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP and former Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker; Nhyiaeso MP and former Deputy Finance Minister, Stephen Amoah; former Dome-Kwabenya MP and former Gender Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo; former Trobu MP Moses Anim; former Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan; and former Ablekuma North MP and former Deputy Ambassador to China, Akua Afriyie.
The statement said the team will lead strategic engagements and mobilization efforts as Chairman Wontumi intensifies his campaign ahead of the internal elections.
