Five persons arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of the chief of Lower Dixcove, Nana Agyemang have been granted bail.

The five persons include the Paramount Chief of Upper Dixcove.

Western Regional Police PRO, Olivia Adiku revealed this during President Akufo-Addo’s tour of the area Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Western Regional House of Chiefs is calling on the Police to prosecute perpetrators in the Dixcove violence.

Acting President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Awulae Amihere Kponyile said the act must not be tolerated.

It may be recalled that a gang, allegedly attacked and took hostage the Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove, Nana Kwasi Agyemang IX and four of his subjects to an unidentified location in the early hours of Monday.

The thugs were alleged to have set barrels of fuel and boats on fire at the beach and also used dynamite to damage some structures.

The Omanhene and his four subjects were later discovered locked up in a room on the second floor of the Chief of Upper Dixcove, Nana Hima Dakyi’s palace.

The police had to break into the room to rescue them.

Nana Dakyi of Upper Dixcove, has however, denied his involvement in the attack of Nana Agyemang and his four subjects when he responded to the Western police command invitation.
