Advocates for Christ Ghana, a Christian Centered NGO has called for the total overhaul of the 1992 Constitution for the adoption of a new one that will respond to the current needs of the country as well as the changing trends in governance.
Identifying loopholes in the Constitution, Chairman of the Organisation, Edem Senanu said the practice of appointing Parliamentarians as Ministers of State, in particular, defeats the normative objective of checks and balances as the hands of the Legislature is usually softened in exercising oversight responsibility on the Executive.
Mr. Senanu stated this when he addressed the Alternative Manifesto Forum 2020 in Accra.
