A Governance Expert, Dr. Eric Oduro-Osae has supported calls for the institutionalisation of career lawmakers into parliament as MPs, to improve the overall performance of the legislature.
The call comes after concerns were raised about the quality of input by some MPs.
Explaining the feasibility of such a move, Dr. Oduro-Osae said political parties can reserve certain constituencies for persons with law background and those who have training in law drafting to contest.
He said government can make use of the Parliamentary Service Training Center for that purpose.
He expressed confidence in public acceptance of such calls if the country decides to pursue it.
