Prez Akufo-Addo seeks partnership with Switzerland in raw materials value-addition

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is seeking partnership with Switzerland to add value to her raw materials. This move is intended to reduce the volume of raw materials exported to other countries. 

President Akufo-Addo made this known  when four envoys who have begun their duty tour to Ghana presented their letters of credence at a colourful ceremony at the Jubilee House.

They are representatives of Switzerland, Botswana, New Zealand and Pakistan. President Akufo-Addo was hopeful that their presence will improve the relations between Ghana and their respective countries.

The first to present his credentials is the Ambassador Philip Stalder of Switzerland.  Mr. Stalder said he will be promoting trade between the two countries. 

President Akufo- Addo said Ghana is working harder to reduce significantly the volume of export of raw materials.

Botswana was  next to present her  letters to President Akufo-Addo. Ambassador  Pule Mphothwe is the high Commissioner of Botswana to Ghana.

He called for more collaboration between Ghana and Botswana to promote both countries.

President Akufo-Addo called on Botswana to support Ghana’s effort to host the Continental Free Trade Area secretariat.  Mark Ramsden is representing New Zealand in Ghana.

The new High Commissioner said he will do well to make Ghana’s relations with New Zealand one of the best.

New Zealand is one country that has experienced a  number of attacks recently. President Akufo- Addo used the occasion to extend his sympathy to New Zealand.

The last to announce his presence to President  Akufo-Addo to begin his duty tour of  Ghana and Nigeria is the Pakistani High Commissioner to Ghana, Major Gen  Waqar Ahmad Kingravi HI.

He extended invitation for President Akufo-Addo to visit Pakistan.

President Akufo-Addo asked Pakistan to join Ghana to take advantage as members of Commonwealth and was hopeful he will honor the invitation of the Pakistani  government.
