Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam George, has dedicated Arsenal’s 2025–26 English Premier League title win to the late former Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.
Sam George, a well‑known Arsenal fan, shared the tribute on his X (formerly Twitter) account to honour Dr. Boamah, who was also a passionate Gunners supporter and died in a helicopter crash last year that claimed eight lives in total.
Context of Arsenal’s title win
Arsenal clinched their first EPL title in 22 years after Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw by AFC Bournemouth, leaving the Gunners four points clear with one game remaining.
The victory also sets up the possibility of a historic treble if Arsenal wins its first-ever UEFA Champions League title when they face Paris Saint‑Germain in the final on May 30.
Sam George’s emotional tribute
In his post, Sam George wrote: “We are CHAMPIONS of England! Come on you Gunners! Dear Omane Boamah. This is for you! I know you are smiling where you are. Keep Resting In Power, Bro.”
The message blends sporting celebration with personal loss, using Arsenal’s success as a symbolic gesture to honour Dr. Boamah’s memory and their shared love for the club.
