The World Boxing Organisation (WBO) has declared Wasiru Mohamed, champion, after his bout with Isaac Sackey, ended abruptly at the Bukom Boxing Arena, last month.

Mohamed, is now the new WBO Africa Super Bantamweight champion.

According to information gathered by the GNA Sports, the WBO after examining the video of the fight and other facts awarded the fight to Mohamed, who knocked out Sackey in the third round of the fight.

However, Mohamed is expected to defend the title against Sackey, but the camps of the two boxers would have to decide the date and venue.

It would be recalled that, Mohamed also known as “Gyata Bi” knocked out Sackey in round three of their title fight.

However, referee Adorn Bertin, failed to give Sackey the mandatory count and therefore declared the fight over to the chagrin of the fans who invaded the ring to protest against the decision.

It led to violence from both camps leading to the failure of match officials to declare the winner.
