National House of Chiefs condemns activities of Homeland Study group

President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede, has condemned recent actions by members of the Homeland secessionist group who blocked the main entry points linking the Volta region to Accra and the republic of Togo in an overnight operation.

The group is advocating the right to self-determination of the people of Western Togoland.

Togbe Afede, who is Agbogbomefia of the Asogli state in the Volta Region described the agitations as unfortunate and disappointing which should not be entertained.

He made the call at an emergency meeting of the National House of Chiefs in Kumasi.

Togbe Afede emphasized that the National House of chiefs has no interest in the happenings in Volta region and will continue to condemn the act.
