Two entities donate GHC45,000 towards GJA’s 70th anniversary celebrations

Two Companies, Consolidated Bank of Ghana (CBG), and New Newmont Gold Core Limited have donated an amount of GHC45,000 in support of the 70th anniversary of the Ghana Journalists Association.
New Newmont Gold Core limited gave GHC20,000 and CBG also gave GHC25,000.
Addressing the media in Accra, the General Manager, Global Marketing at CBG, John Zigah said the donation is to support the category of Best Economic and Financial reporter for the GJA Awards.
The Head of  Communication Affairs at Newmont, Agbeko Azuma said the media is key in developmental issues, hence the need for Corporate Organisations to support them.

Responding to the gesture the President of the GJA, Roland Affail Monney called on media houses to focus more on economic and financial reporting.

He said it is not enough for the media to stabilize a country democratically but also do well also to help in matters of finances of the country.
