The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Muslim Ummah in Ghana, Ghanaians in the diaspora, and Muslims across the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

In a statement signed by the Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, the Ministry described Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, as a profound reminder of faith, obedience, humility, devotion and selflessness as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

The statement noted that the celebration calls on all people to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, peace, tolerance and service to humanity.

Quoting Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13), the Ministry emphasised that righteousness remains the highest virtue in the sight of Allah.

According to the Ministry, the spirit of Eid should inspire renewed commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and national development.

It added that values such as love, generosity, discipline and concern for the vulnerable are essential in building stronger communities and a prosperous Ghana.

The Ministry also acknowledged the continued contributions of the Muslim community towards national peace, interfaith harmony, education, local governance and socio-economic development.

It encouraged citizens to continue promoting understanding, tolerance and solidarity for the collective advancement of the country.

The statement further prayed for Allah to accept the prayers, sacrifices and acts of worship of Muslims and to continue blessing Ghana with peace, stability, unity and prosperity.

The Ministry wished all Muslims a peaceful and blessed Eid al-Adha celebration, ending the message with “Eid Mubarak.”
