Chairman of Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mensah Thompson, is expressing grave concern about the misuse of the country’s petroleum revenue portfolio for funding free SHS.

The organisation also says there is the urgent need to review thirteen petroleum agreements to inure to the benefit of Ghanaians.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Mr. Thompson said Government needs to explain how much of the petroleum revenue has been spent to sponsor the free SHS policy and how much debt is hanging for parents to pay.

He said in the next ten years, Ghanaians must expect an educational levy fund where parents would pay through buying products on the market.

Mr. Thompson said Government needs to quickly re-align its free SHS policy with revenue use and the implementation programme.
