The demonstration against insecurity by the Inter Party Coalition in Defence of National Sovereignty dubbed “Agbe Wo” meaning, ‘They are killing Us’,  has taken place in Accra.

The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia told the media that the demonstration is not against the Police but against the government for insecurity, following recent disturbances in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

NDC flagbearer aspirant, Sylvester Mensah said if the police is not supported to curb insecurity, the NDC as a party will not retreat.

They are therefore using this demonstration to serve as a warning to government.

MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa also indicated that Ghanaians are not cowards and for that matter they will stand for what is right.

Earlier the group presented a petition to the Inspector General of Police David Asante Apeatu.

The petition called for a peaceful resolution not only of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence but also endeavour to address the security issues in the country.

The IGP after receiving the petition said his office will give it the needed attention.
