Ghanaian music superstar Shatta Wale has been confirmed as the headline performer for the 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup, taking place on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The event promises a thrilling blend of sport and entertainment, featuring the classic football rivalry between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, alongside a live performance by one of Africa’s biggest dancehall artists.
The President’s Cup, now in its 17th edition, is an annual football match organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to honor the sitting President of Ghana, currently John Dramani Mahama. This year’s match is especially notable as President Mahama is expected to attend and personally present the trophy to the winning team, adding a layer of national prestige to the event.
The football fixture, known as the “Super Clash,” pits Ghana’s two most successful clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, against each other in what is always a fiercely contested and highly anticipated showdown.
Kotoko comes into the match with momentum after recently winning their 10th MTN FA Cup, while Hearts of Oak are preparing to unveil a new technical team led by coach Didi Dramani, aiming to reclaim glory in front of their home fans.
