Chelsea and England football star Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to be out for six months after sustaining an ankle injury during friendly in the USA against New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium
The player sustained the said ankle injury in the 45th minute of the match when he went down gripping his left ankle.
Although the 23-year-old might have sustained an injury at such a crucial time of the season, the ‘Blues’ went on to win the match by 3 – 0, with midfielder Ross Barkley opening the scoring on the 3rd minute and and third goal on the 62nd minute of the game whilst fellow team-mate Olivier Giroud scored the second goal with a scintillating diving header on the 29th minute.
Chelsea are to play Arsenal in Baku Olympic Stadium, Azerbaijan on Wednesday, 29 May for the Europa League Trophy.
Ruben has been a pillar in Chelsea’s midfield this season scoring 9 times in 15 games for Chelsea with the later been a goal in the Europa League semi-final match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
