Post-mortem is being carried out on a sex worker who was murdered in Sierra Leone after giving evidence in the trial of the murder of another sex worker.
Memuna Jabbie’s throat was slit and her naked body dumped in a mangrove swamp along the Lumley Beach in the west of the capital, Freetown.
The body of another sex worker was dumped on the same beach almost four years ago after she was gang-raped. The two sex workers were best friends.
Meanwhile, the police have refused to comment on the matter saying they were busy putting their facts together.

This is a heartbreaking loss. The courage to speak up and provide evidence is monumental, and it’s devastating that it cost such a precious life. My thoughts are with their loved ones—may their bravery inspire the change we so desperately need. 🙏💔
