CORONAVIRUS SCARE WHICH HAS BECOME A THREAT TO THE WORLD

The whole world has now come under great threat because of the menace of Coronavirus. Indeed, no part of the world, whether far or near has become safe for anyone. Countries that were thought to be safe as far as Coronavirus is concerned are no longer safe and have come under great threat. People in affected areas whether far or near, are all at risk so nothing can be taken for granted as far as the risk or danger of attack by Coronavirus is concerned. What this means is that we need to take effective relevant measures as a nation to bring the situation under control. If effective measures are not taken now, it is most likely that the situation will get out of control and the life of everybody in the country will become adversely affected.

In Ghana, it is worth noting that isolation measures have been taken to include the scanning of the country’s borders, the setting up of isolation centres at Ridge Hospital, Tema General Hospital and also quarantine centres at the Accra International Airport. Equally important is the readiness of the Noguchi Research Centre as well as the Research Centre in Kumasi to collaborate or work together with each other to find solutions to the problem as far as any traces of the Coronavirus in any part of the country is concerned. At this juncture, as was pointed out by the president in his broadcast, we need to intensify public education on the virus so it is good that the Ministry of Information has been tasked to take up the challenge.

In this regard, no one should take things for granted but obey instructions as put forward by the country’s health professionals. Furthermore, there should be no shaking of hands in public and when people cough, they should do well to cover their mouths with handkerchiefs or other materials. These are the things that can help save the country and everyone from contracting the virus.

The continuous monitoring of our borders is very important seeing that neighbouring countries such as Togo, Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso have all reported at least one case of suspected virus. What this implies is that we need to resort to the regular washing and cleaning of hands with alcohol-based sanitizers so as to avoid any possible contraction of the disease. In spite of all these good measures taken, there is a need for a constant monitoring of the situation in order to bring all circumstances connected with the disease under control. As this is being done, we can assure the people of this country of their safety and protection from the disease.

Until the problem is brought under control, no one will feel safe and this is why regular concern about bringing the situation under control is very paramount. The situation has affected economic transactions in a way but we need to deal with this health menace before getting our freedom to transact business with various parts of the world. If this is done, we can effectively bring the situation under control and ensure we make the country safe for all. The threat of the Coronavirus as pointed out by the president in his broadcast to the nation is real and cannot be taken for granted but with the support of everyone, the situation can be brought under control to make the country safe for all.
