The Daily Graphic pays immense tribute to the originators of the Right to Information Bill (RTI) whose love for democratic dispensation culminated to the passage of the RTI law. It recalls personalities and scholars like the B. J da Rocha, Justice P.D Anim, Justice Charles Coussey, Professor Kofi Kumado and Justice R. J Hayfron Benjamin who left their footprints in the golden sands of Ghana’s RTI regime. As we celebrate the passage of the RTI Bill, the paper believes the passage and its assent by the President does not guarantee smooth sailing of the law. It therefore encourages citizens with the requisite knowledge, expertise and experience to contribute their quota to make the implementation of he law as smooth as possible.
The Ghanaian Times adds its voice to the rising concern on the ban on motorbikes also known as okada. The paper sides with the Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Titus Glover that even though the usage of okada serves as a source of livelihood, many others undertake unlawful activities like committing and escaping from crimes easily. The paper therefore agrees with the ban on its usage from 9pm to 6am and supports measures that would contain the menace and curtail the activities of okada in the country.
