The Daily Graphic is in support of the Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo’s statement that delivery of sloppy and unfair judgement by some judges makes the Judiciary a laughing stock. The paper is saddened by the behaviour of some judges especially those who deliver judgements exceeding their jurisdiction and deliver wrongful judgement based on either monetary or political influence and cause irreparable consequences on the victim and his family. It therefore urges Ms Akuffo who is the highest judge of the Judiciary to name and shame judges who continue to deliver wrongful judgement and initiate reforms that will ensure that judges deliver quality judgement and use stringent rewards and sanctions regime to motivate judges to deliver the kind of judgement expected of them.

The Ghanaian Times calls for continuous dialogue between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and businesses to find a common ground for a successful and friction-free implementation of the tax stamp policy which undoubtedly would sanitise the market and generate revenue for the state. The paper believes the policy which aims at controlling the importation and local production of excisable goods for revenue purposes is purposeful. The Times however thinks it is critical for the GRA to continue dialoguing with companies and give them a second hearing.
