The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has formally welcomed American YouTuber and live streamer iShowSpeed to the country, describing his visit as an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s culture, heritage and tourism offerings to a global audience.
“The Ghana Tourism Authority is pleased to welcome iShowSpeed. We look forward to providing him with an enriching experience exploring our heritage and cultural sites, as well as participating in our eco-tourism activities. Stay tuned for more updates,” the authority said in a statement.

The arrival of the internet personality has already generated significant attention online, with Deputy GTA CEO Abeiku Santana urging Ghanaians to actively engage on social media platforms as the streamer is expected to go live for up to nine hours during his stay.

iShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, is one of the world’s most recognisable digital creators, known for his high-energy live streams and spontaneous interactions with fans.
He has travelled to Ghana as part of a wider African tour, which has seen him visit several countries across the continent, including Nigeria, South Africa and others, where his live broadcasts have drawn millions of viewers and trended globally.
During his time in Ghana, the streamer is scheduled to take part in a series of activities, including a visit to the Goldbod and a supercar showcase at Independence Square, both of which are expected to feature prominently in his content.
