Popular Ghanaian actress and television presenter Nana Ama McBrown has confirmed that she has divorced her husband, Maxwell Mensah, bringing to an end months of public speculation about the state of their marriage.
McBrown made the disclosure during an interview with Cookie Tee on NewDay on TV3 on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Speaking candidly, the actress and media personality said the decision to part ways was mutual and taken after careful consideration by both parties.
“I am very happy right now. I have gone through a divorce, yes, I am divorced, and I am not ashamed to say it,” she said. “We handled it peacefully. My husband and I are cool. We speak regularly, we meet, and I still visit my in-laws. We are the best of friends.”
She added that the separation was not acrimonious and was reached through dialogue rather than conflict.
“We were both tired. We sat down, talked about it and decided to move on,” she said.
According to McBrown, the decision was not influenced by public pressure or external factors but was made in the best interest of all involved. She emphasised that there is no animosity between her and her former husband and appealed to the public to respect their privacy.
Addressing questions about her future, McBrown said she is uncertain about remarriage but remains open to having another child, noting that motherhood continues to be important to her.
“For now, marriage is not something I am thinking about,” she said. “But having another child is definitely possible.”
Nana Ama McBrown has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry for more than two decades, earning recognition for both her acting career and television work. The actress said she remains focused on her career and family and will continue to give her best to her audience.
The interview marked the first time McBrown has publicly addressed rumours surrounding her marriage, bringing an end to months of speculation.
