He noted that students of KNUST are customers of the University and the school authorities must treat them as such. According Mr Saani, both students and management should have mutual engagements whenever necessary.

He cautioned students of the University against resorting to vandalism no matter their grievances.

Meanwhile, a the Member of Parliament for Wa Central and International Relations Expert, Rashid Pelpuo, said the brouhaha at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology did not just happen but a lot of unresolved issues contributed to the create what the students termed ‘brutalities’ at the University. That notwithstanding, he appealed to the University Authorities not to suppress and oppress students.

For his part, the President of the Ghana journalists Association (GJA), Roland Affail Monney noted that the University Authorities need to understand the students position.

He advised students to take their studies seriously adding that, though education is the predominant goal for being on campus, students are obligated to respect and abide by the rules and regulations of the University and  act within the confines of the law.
