The National Democratic Congress (NDC)  has scheduled a town hall meeting today (April 4), to reflect on the state of Ghana’s economy.

The party said Dr Mahamadu Bawumia’s lecture was full of misleading facts and misstatements laced with populist rhetoric and does not reflect the true state of the economy.

Speaking on news and current affairs programme ‘Behind the News’ on Uniiq FM, a member of the party’s communications team, Gyasi Mensah, said former President Mahama is expected to be present at the meeting today.

Below is the press release signed by General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and released yesterday (April 3).

The National Democratic Congress has taken note of the town hall meeting address today by the Chairman of the Economic Management Team, H.E. Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.

In a manner reminiscent of his utterances during the 2016 general election campaign, Dr. Bawumia’s lecture was full of misleading facts and patent misstatements laced with usual populist rhetoric rather than a fact-based presentation on the economy.

The NDC Finance & Economic Team will take advantage of the public lecture organised by the Coalition for Restoration (CFR) to address the numerous distortions and lay bare the true facts of the state of the Ghanaian economy.

The event is scheduled to take place at Mensvic Hotel, East Legon tomorrow, April 4th at 1:00pm and it’s open to all Ghanaians from all walks of life.
