Ministers and their deputies, as well as Members of Parliament who wish to follow the President on tours will now have to board buses.
This is aimed at reducing the long convoys that usually follow the President on these tours which have previously been criticised as too long, expensive and needless.
Yesterday more than 20 ministers who accompanied the President on his tour of the Ashanti Region boarded two Intercity State Transport Corporation (STC) buses which were made available.
The ministers included Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation and Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo, Dr Akoto Osei, outgoing Minister for Aviation, Cecelia Abena Dapaah and Environment and Innovation Minister, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng.
President Akufo-Addo is on a five day tour of the Ashanti region as part of his nationwide tour.
