The Minister for Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has told Parliament that, trained teachers will only be employed into the Ghana Education Service (GES) by applying for vacant positions.
This he said, will be after they have passed their Licensure Examination at the end of their National Service.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh said this in response to a question filed by the Member of Parliament (MP) of Akatsi North, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe.
Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe wanted to know the steps the ministry is taking to absorb all privately trained teachers into the education sector as done by the Ministry of Health.
